NOTE: These passwords are for the Japanese Famicom game Ninja Ryukenden III, which is the Japanese version of Ninja Gaiden III. Ninja Ryukenden III has a password feature that was missing in Ninja Gaiden III as well as unlimited continues. The passwords are represented by symbols,which are the same one use as power-ups in the actual game. Cheat: 99 Continues

When the title screen goes into the intro, press START to go back to the title screen. Do this six MORE times. At the eighth title screen, hold UP + LEFT + A + B + SELECT and press START for 99 continues.

Cheat: Infinite Lives

In Stage 6-2B, get the 1-Up and backtrack to 6-2A. When you return to 6-2B, the 1-Up and other powerups will have reappeared. Repeat until the timer runs out.
you can also do this with 7-2D and 7-2C.
